COOSA BASEBALL ASSOCIATION, INC.

Coosa Baseball will play by the Official Cal Ripken Rule Book with the following exceptions:

1. Major and Minor League -  If the teams playing have different numbers of players, both teams will bat the number of the smaller team, and the larger team will substitute its additional players.  These substitutes will play at least 6 outs in the field and bat at least once.

2. All batters will wear a mask on their helmets.

3. A batter cannot square to bunt then pull back and hit.

4. We will observe a 10 run limit per inning in Major League play; a 7 run limit per inning in Minor League play; and a 5 run limit per inning in Rookie League play.

5. Major and Minor League - The starting pitcher is allowed to return as pitcher later in the same game provided the player remained in the game at another position when removed from the mound. And provided he/she was not removed on a second visit to the mound. All Cal Ripken inning count rules will still apply.

Note: Tee Ball and Rookie Leagues also have rules that may vary from the Cal Ripken rule book. Rule adjustments are designed to help new or less experienced players to develop. These rules are communicated to the team coaches via the league coordinator prior to the start of the season.
